It was finally time for auditions! Director Gina and co-director Xavier had a quick chat to the aspiring actors before the auditions begun. They gave a brief description of how they saw each character and explained that each actor would get the chance to read all the parts. Janey the yeti and Willis the turtle were up first. They read with the script. And without. Next were Alice the Alpaca and Patrick the Yak. Patrick was quite astounded by the performance he gave, he knew he could act but hadn't quite realise the extent of his talent! As he got to the heart of each character he saw his dazzling future acting career unfold in front of him. Last but by no means least was Edward the wolf and since there were five of them, Alice was asked to stay and read with Edward as well. Gina and Xavier were blown away by all the amazing performances! They went off to deliberate and have a private discussion of the merits of each actor. After an agonising nine minutes they had come to a decision... They gathered their team of actors and announced the parts. Janey the yeti was to play the woodcutter, Patrick the yak - the grandmother, Edward the wolf - Little Red Riding Hood's mother, Willis the turtle - the big bad wolf and Alice as Little Red Riding Hood! Everyone was pleased as punch! Edward was particularly pleased that he wasn't cast as the wolf because he's sick of being typecast as the mean wolf. Gina and Xavier thanked everyone for their interest in the play and said they were thoroughly looking forward to working together! Then the actors filed off stage ready to start learning their lines.
