Over the last week or so the critters have been discussing the merits of different types of paper airplanes, and today they decided it was time for a good old-fashioned paper airplane extravaganza (competition). They discussed the rules which are as follows: 2 pieces of A4 paper each, no sticky tape and 10 minutes for construction.
Alice the alpaca made a Mighty Mite, Roman the fox decided to go with a more traditional plane, and Gina the giraffe went for the strangest plane the others had ever seen - a tubular plane.
Then it was time to test out their new contraptions. They went outside, had one practice launch each then it was straight into the serious competition.
Alice went first with her Mighty Mite which soared beautifully then nose dived into the ground.
Next was Gina with the Tubular Titan. To everyone's surprise (except Gina's) it flew smoothly through the air and came to a soft landing in the mint.
Last up was Roman's traditional plane which he named George the Giant. Roman launched George with such vigour that it veered to the left then swung to the right and landed with a bang just to the left of the Mighty Mite.
After a closer look at where the planes landed it was clear that the Tubular Titan was the winner!
And as luck would have it, the Tubular Titan doubled perfectly as a crown for victorious Gina! Roman and Alice were very impressed and congratulated Gina enthusiastically.
