Hi, my name is Torunn. Yes it is an unusual name, it's Scandinavian and from what I understand most common in Norway. I'm half Swedish. I was born in Sydney and have lived here most of my life. I have a great desire to move to a cooler city that is snow covered all winter and has easy access to majestic mountains so I can go snowboarding, cross-country skiing and snow walking every weekend.
I have a degree in Fine Arts with a photography major. I started making softies in 2008 without much knowledge or skill in the way of sewing, but with the help of books and manuals I've improved immeasurably.
I have an unreasonable fear of leeches which I believe is the result of a scarring childhood experience where I went camping with my family and in the morning awoke to the vision of hundreds (that could be a slight exaggeration) of leeches sucking on the outside of the tent trying to find a way in. Despite my best efforts I ended up with at least three of them feeding on me, before this experience I was contently unaware that leeches existed.
I can be overly competitive but try to channel this aspect of my personality into team sports which I enjoy immensely. I am an animal lover and have been vegetarian for 18 years. I have a wonderful family, fantastic friends and the perfect boyfriend/partner.
