Yesterday was housemate Sean's birthday so the critters jumped at the chance to make a cake. They found a great looking recipe, Chocolate Banana Birthday Cake with Maple Glazed Walnuts, on their new favourite food blog - My New Roots (they highly recommend you take a look).
After a close examination of the recipe, confusion ensued. It was a layered cake with four layers but there were only three of them making it - so they decided to simplify it and just make the banana cake part with the chocolate and walnuts on top.
They divided up the mixing, measuring, blending, mushing, stirring and reading until the mixture was ready to bake!
Mabel the giraffe said she should glaze the walnuts because she was the tallest. The others didn't quite follow her logic, but seeing how eager she was, they agreed it would be best.
Rory the red panda got to spread the chocolate glaze as Murray the koala didn't want to get too dirty.
Then the three critters proudly assessed their work, they all agreed it was suitably impressive. It was time to present housemate Sean with his cake!
Housemate Sean was overwhelmed with joy at what the critters had done for him. He did notice they had only put five candles on the cake but thought it best not to tell them he was in fact turning twenty eight, not five.
