I was recently given this sewing machine by Toby's (my boyfriend) grandma who no longer has a need for one. I was very excited to finally have a sewing machine but daunted by the thought of learning how to use it and having to read an instruction manual which I have a great aversion to. I haven't used a sewing machine since about year 9 at high school. A couple of days ago I took the plunge and learnt how to use it and as it turns out it's quite easy to use. I'm still struggling with sewing curves and doing little fiddly details but I think I'm improving at a fairly good rate. The sewing machine is a truly great invention!
Here are a couple of photos of my work space. Toby and I live in a one bedroom apartment so the living room/dining room also transforms into my studio. Unfortunately this means the mess (my work in progress) hardly ever gets cleaned up, except for when we have friends over. Toby has never complained about my sprawling mess which I'm incredibly grateful for.
