Here are some new brooches I've been working on lately... They'll be making their debut at the Eveleigh Artisans' Market on Sunday! Add Comment I hope everyone's had a great weekend! Toby and I spent Saturday morning in Bunnings (with what seemed like half the population of Sydney) buying supplies for gardening and good old-fashioned home-making in general. We only have one small garden patch - here are some before, during and after shots.. It's not the most impressive 'after' photo because we planted seeds so now we have to wait and see what happens.. In the meantime we have this family of frogs to brighten up our garden patch, we feel a bit bad for the 'black sheep' of the family sitting off to the side, but he insists he's happy on his own comfy chair. We finally bought some picture hooks so we could brighten up the room. The Marimekko print above is a piece of fabric I had that we decided to stretch over a canvas frame. The Herbert & Friends crew have moved into the bookshelf and seem to be liking their new home. Below is our polaroid wall. We take photos of all our visitors as well as eventful moments, date the photo and put it up. I have to say polaroid photos are a lot of fun! As most of you sydney siders would know, Art & About is having their launch tonight with lots of live music and festivities. As part of the the opening night there'll be a market - On Sale! Design After Dusk in the State Library galleries. I'll be having a stall there! It's from 5pm - 9pm. It sounds like it'll be a great night all round so if you're local you should check it out! Last weekend as I was walking through the city I came across these birdcages in Angel Place. I'm not entirely sure but I think they're part of the Art & About - Laneway Art. I finally unpacked the last box yesterday! And put together this awesome shelf to store my fabrics on - it's amazing to finally have a dedicated shelf for sewing stuff! I've also been collecting jars for a while to keep my useful little felt scraps in. And I woke up to a freshly baked loaf of sourdough - made by excellent housemate. Now I finally feel like I can get back on track and start working again! It's been an exciting and exhausting weekend with lots of change in the air. The most exciting thing about this weekend was the birth of our friends' baby girl (the one I made the owl mobile for). She is so adorable!!! It was amazing to be able to meet her on her first day in the wider world and share that with her parents! Here we are below sharing a moment... Toby and I also moved house over the weekend which was the exhausting part, and a little exciting. We've still got a whole bunch of boxes to unpack but we're slowly getting there. Today will be visit #2 to ikea, and hopefully the last for a while - although I do enjoy the odd ikea visit. Toby and I have gone from living in a small townhouse on our own, to sharing a large terrace with friends which is a huge change. I was a little apprehensive about it to begin with but so far it's been great and the house is starting to feel like home. I've been working on some new products this week - cushion covers! We're also in the process of moving house which is hard work with all the sorting, packing and taking apart of furniture. I think the cushion covers came about because of my 'home focussed-ness' at the moment. The big move is happening on Saturday - it's been a long week! |
