Each afternoon when Ruby hears the postman go by she runs out to see if there's any interesting mail for her. She is usually disappointed, and today wan't an exception.
She took the boring mail inside and chatted to her friend Augustine about how she wishes someone would send her some interesting mail! As Augustine listened to Ruby's predicament he had an idea - he would write Ruby a letter!
He found some extra nice note paper to write on and hid in a corner to write his letter. At first he struggled with writers block because he couldn't think of anything to write that Ruby didn't already know about, they were best friends after all.
But once he started writing he found he almost ran out of page to write on!
Then he found the most interesting looking envelope he could.
Sealed the envelope.
And off he went to the post box.
As he posted the letter his excitement grew - he couldn't wait to see the look on Ruby's face when she received the letter!

Bernard the giraffe doesn't want to tell you how much he'd like an invite to your birthday party so he decided to wear a t-shirt he made - he hopes it will get the message across.
Willem the turtle is well aware it isn't a dress up party but who doesn't want a turtle pirate at their birthday party?!!
Harold the racooon is slightly concerned that you'll know by the shape of the present that it's a book (and because he has a reputation for giving people books on their birhtdays), so he's trying to put you off the scent.
Betty the yeti has come to realise that she's most likely the coolest yeti to ever have existed - she's pretty ok with this.
Inspired by last week's record-player discovery, the critters decided to make their own music this week! But since none of these particular creatures have much talent when it comes to musical instruments they decided something electronic would suit them best.
They were initially a tad overwhelmed by what all the buttons, sliders, knobs and pads do, so some experimentation was in order.
Once they felt they had a pretty good idea of what the equipment did, it was time to combine their musical visions and start production. It was agreed that the yetis would take on the role as musical directors/conductors/composers (they have the most musical experience because they both dabble with the keytar).
After a few hours of the focussed musicalness, their first song was finished! Everyone was extremely pleased with it - they called it Herbert's Shuffle. You can have a listen below.

On Saturday the creatures discovered records for the first time! It was quite the revelation, and Isabella the koala, Henley the fox and Milla the red panda spent the morning rummaging though and playing all the records they could find.
In the mitst of all their record playing they heard a knock on the door. They looked at each other in surprise because as far as they knew they weren't expecting any visitors.
Henley opened the door to a creature he has never seen before - he was exceptionally tall and rather slim.
The others came running to meet this new creature. He introduced himself as Alberto the traveling giraffe and said he'd heard about this house of critters on his travels though Romania of all places.
They invited Alberto in - Isabella and Milla took him straight to the record player. Alberto was very impressed and showed just the right amount of entusiasm for their new discovery. Alberto said his favourite record was the Winnie the Pooh soundtrack, the others couldn't tell if he was joking so they half laughed.
Meanwhile, Henley whipped up some tea.
Henley is well versed in tea serving (he did a course on it last year), so he knows you can't serve a new friend tea without something sweet to accompany it.
He searched the fridge and found just the thing - some carrot muffins they'd made the day before. Ideally they would be freshly baked but with such short notice it would have to do.
Over tea (which Alberto was extremely impressed with), Alberto regaled the critters with stories of his travels - from meeting a Saudi prince on a remote Greek island to getting lost in Transylvania and stumbling upon a witch who claimed to be Count Dracula reborn.
All too soon it was time for Alberto to leave, they all promise they'd keep in touch and said Alberto was welcome back any time!
Alberto the traveling giraffe is a custom order but there's a distinct possibility more giraffes will be joining the gang in the near future...
After a long and rewarding weekend at the Brisbane Finders Keepers market (they met so many lovely people), Frida the yeti, Reggie the raccoon and Fred the wombat decided they would explore Brisbane.
They jumped on a ferry into town - Frida was up the front enjoying the refreshing air while Reggie and Fred decided inside the ferry was more their speed.
They'd been told South Bank was a good place to explore so off they went.
You would never guess what happened next, they stumbled upon a beach! Right in the middle of Brisbane! If only they'd listened to the yetis who tried to convince them they needed beach gear, nevertheless they basked in the sun for a while.
Then it was time for lunch and they made a new friend! Although, they got the sense that their friend was more interested in their lunch than their friendship.
After lunch they had a little rest before the long journey back to Sydney.
When these three yetis heard they were off to Brisbane this weekend they ran off to start packing. They decided it would be hot and they should definitely pack beach gear (seeing as it's in Queensland and everything).
Meanwhile the other yetis are wondering how they'd tell the eager three that according to the bureau of meteorology it's only going to be a max of 20 degrees in Brisbane and rain is predicted for the whole weekend!
