As a child one of my all-time favourite animals to visit at the zoo were the meerkats! They always provided endless hours of entertainment, so I figured it was about time I made one! Here's Zara the meerkat. Zara is incredibly stubborn, so it's not worth getting in an argument with her. She has decided she's going to run tours to show people around in meerkat homes. A lot of people have tried to explain that they wouldn't fit into a meerkat burrow but she's absolutely convinced her plan will work, and with that kind of determination maybe it will! 1 Comment Thank you so much to everyone who participated in this Auction and in all the other auctions and raffles. I'm quite overwhelmed by all the generosity! The highest bidder for Maurice was Eveline with a huge $250! Congratulations Eveline, Maurice will be moving in with you! The fundraising raffles are still open! They close on Wednesday 26th at midday. To have a look at the raffle list visit Make It Perfect. One of the great things about the Flood Appeal Auction aside from raising money was discovering new blogs and awesome things that I probably wouldn't have heard of otherwise. My favourite of these is a blog called 'I bought a pair of Camper boots and now I'm broke'. Her illustrations are really great and the blog was started on the premise that she would write-up/draw everything she bought each day to prevent her spending too much, the blog has evolved since then but you can see these drawings in her earlier post, such a cool idea! Below is one her illustrations. Tomorrow is the last day to get your bids in for the lovely Maurice! See below for details. To check out what else is on offer visit Make It Perfect! Life is back to business once again after a wonderfully relaxing time down the coast. Unfortunately while I've been enjoying myself so many Queenslanders have been having a horrible time enduring the massive floods! To help out I'm going to jump on board with the Flood Appeal Auctions. I will be auctioning Maurice the Racoon! Maurice has recently discovered a passion for playing the bassoon and oddly enough designing sunglasses. He finds it incredibly hard to find sunglasses that suit him so he's decided to make his own! He also enjoys eating salt and vinegar chips on special occasions. Maurice is 22cm tall and 21cm across his shoulders. He is handmade using wool felt, recycled felt, cotton fabric and eco-friendly stuffing. Here’s how to bid: 1. Bidding will start at $40 (Australian). 2. You can place a bid by leaving a comment on this blog post with your bid amount and email address. Please make sure that your bid is higher than the previous bidder. 3. Your bid must be in whole dollar increments. 4. This auction is open to everyone and I will cover the cost of postage anywhere in the world! 5. The auction begins NOW and will END at midnight on Monday 24th January 2011. 6. At the close of the auction, I will contact the winner (please make sure your bid comment includes your email address). The winner will pay the winning amount directly into the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal and send me proof of payment via email. Once proof of payment has been received, I will post your goodies 7. Thank you for taking part and let the bidding begin I've slowly been getting back into work this week which started with this custom order pictured below, his name is Little Sedrick. He's super cute and he makes me smile every time I look at him, it'll be sad to see him go! I've also been working on a new bunch of softies that will be in my shop by the end of next week. I acquired some new fabrics over the last couple of weeks which is great! I was getting sick of the using the same fabric, even though I love them it's great to mix it up with something new. Tomorrow I'm off on a family holiday to the beach for four days, according to the weather report it's meant to rain for the next week so fingers crossed we get a day or two of sun! I hope 2011 has been a great year so far! I spent new years eve on Garie Beach in the Royal National Park. It was the perfect end to 2010! Now I'm off to Bungan Beach. I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend and the beginning of 2011! |
